Biography
Mark Sepulveda is a Tenor who hails from Los Angeles, California and is known for performances in Opera and Musical Theatre. He was recently seen as Tamino in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte with Landlocked Opera of Kansas City, Belmonte in Die Entführung aus dem Serail at Opera in the Ozarks. He graduated with his performance certificate in Voice/Opera from The University of Missouri Kansas City in May 2020, where he studied with renowned tenor Vinson Cole. While a student at UMKC, he performed Aeneas in Dido and Aeneas and Dr. Blind in Die Fledermaus. As a member of the UCLA opera workshop, he worked with Peter Kazaras, noted international stage director, and performed the roles of Jo The Loiterer in The Mother of Us All as well as Hans in the world premiere of The Emperor’s New Clothes. Mark is also an accomplished musical theatre performer and is known for such roles as Enoch Snow in Carousel, Lieutenant Cable in South Pacific, Padre in Man of La Mancha. He had much success as Enoch Snow in Carousel from Hollywood to Kansas City. Musical Theatre Heritage presented him in the role in the 75th anniversary production of Carousel at Crown Center in Kansas City in March 2020 which was canceled due to the pandemic. In August of 2021 He Originated the Roles of Lazia/Stark/Beach in the premier reading of Truman and Pendergast a new musical by Terence O'Malley and Daniel Doss. Recently He Played Squire Dap/Reveler 5 in Camelot and Henry Etches in Titanic at MTH Theater in Crown Center. He is Currently working on Nelly Don The Movie Musical a new film by Terence O'Malley which will be his film debut. He is also an Alumnus of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, College of the Performing Arts (AMDA) Los Angeles, and holds a BFA in Music Theatre. He was a finalist in the John Raitt Awards for his performance in Les Misérables. He has studied voice with Julian Fielder, Vinson Cole and Dale Morehouse. He has also worked with James Conlon of The Los Angeles Opera, Daniel Beckwith of the Metropolitan Opera and is currently working with Ward Holmquist celebrated international conductor and coach. His vocal coaches have included James Lent, Michele Scanlon, Louis Menendez, James Maverick, Richard Williams and Ward Holmquist. Mark currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri and is honored to be working amongst many great artists here in the community.He looks forward to performing and sharing music worldwide.
